In Italia, secondo nostre stime, il consumo di cemento a fine settembre 2010 ha subito un calo nei confronti dello stesso periodo dell’anno precedente. La flessione è stata più contenuta nel 3° trimestre dell’anno, rispetto a quanto evidenziato nel 1° semestre, ma
l’evoluzione del mercato continua a manifestare segnali di debolezza e, per l’intero esercizio, si prevedono consumi inferiori a quelli del 2009 in ragione del persistere della crisi nel comparto residenziale.

Interim results at September 30, 2010
In the first nine months of the year 2010, cement and clinker volumes stood at 20.0 million tons, up 1.3% from the same period a year earlier. Sales showed some improvement or remained stable in many countries of operations, apart from the Czech Republic, the United States of America and Mexico. Deliveries were more sustained in Russia, Ukraine, Poland and Luxembourg. Ready-mix concrete volumes totaled 10.7 million cubic meters, up 1.9% from 9M-09.
The positive trend recorded in Germany, Ukraine and Mexico allowed to more than offset the decline reported mainly in the Czech Republic and Italy.

Third quarter 2010 results
In the third quarter of 2010, Revenues came to EUR 231.1 million (EUR 210.8 million in the third quarter of 2009) for an increase of 9.7%. This was due to the
increase in volumes of cement and ready- mixed concrete sold across all of the geographical areas in which the Group operates, except for Italy, where demand remains weak and competition over prices has led to a 21% drop in revenues.
