House prices go up again

House prices increased for the sixth month running in November, a report revealed yesterday.
The number of properties changing hands also picked up, according to the Land Registry.
It said prices rose 0.9% last month, leaving them only 0.3% lower than they were a year ago.
The average home in England and Wales now costs £161,554 - which is £8,800 more than the market low point in April.
The Land Registry data is widely watched as, unlike other reports, it includes every sale during the month.
It found that prices rose fastest in London, with the average now 3.5% higher than a year ago.
Yorkshire and Humberside has been the slowest area to pick up, with prices still 4.5% lower then 12 months ago.
The number of transactions completed in November rose to 55,520, from 50,187 a year ago.
